The concert by the ensemble Trio Seraphim is a special event in honor of St. Stosija, the heavenly patroness of the Archdiocese of Zadar and the patron saint of the cathedral. It will take place on January 14, on the eve of St. Stosija’s feast day, starting at 6 PM after the solemn Vespers.
Trio Seraphim is an ensemble dedicated to a much-loved repertoire for voice, trumpet, and organ. Bringing together some of Croatia’s finest soloists, the ensemble has been active on the music scene since 2018. Their concerts are distinguished by original compositions and arrangements specially prepared for their performances, always met with enthusiastic acclaim from both audiences and critics.
Monika Cerovčec is a soloist with the Croatian Radiotelevision Choir and the Antiphonus Ensemble. She graduated from the Zagreb Academy of Music in Music Culture and Solo Singing (under Professor Lidija Horvat – Dunjko).
Vedran Kocelj, one of Croatia’s leading trumpet soloists and principal trumpet of the HRT Symphony Orchestra, graduated in trumpet performance in Ljubljana under Stanko Arnold. He further honed his skills at masterclasses with John Wallace, Bo Nilson, and Ed Carroll, and performed with the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra under Pierre Boulez. Frequently sought after for performances ranging from Baroque to contemporary music, he regularly appears with ensembles such as Cantus, the Croatian Baroque Ensemble, Zagreb Soloists, his home orchestra, as well as major Croatian and international orchestras.
Pavao Mašić, winner of the Grand Prix Bach and the Audience Award at the Bach Organ Competition in Lausanne (2006), has built a successful career as a concert organist and harpsichordist. As the principal organist of St. Mark’s Church in Zagreb’s Upper Town since 1999, Mašić continues the rich tradition of organ music that has been documented in this historic church continuously since 1359.
