The young and successful French organist Thomas Ospital, titular organist of Saint Eustasche in Paris and professor of organ at the National Conservatory of Music and Dance in Paris, closed the second edition of the international festival "Organ of St. Anastasia" in the 2024/2025 season with a solo solo concert. The concert was held on August 23, 2025 at 8 p.m. in the Zadar Cathedral of St. Anastasia, on the famous Eisenbarth organ.
Thomas has been the titular organist of the great organ of the Saint-Eustache church in Paris for ten years. He is a professor of organ alongside Olivier Latry, whose student he was, at the Paris National Conservatory of Music and Dance. Winner of several international competitions. He also regularly leads master classes in interpretation and improvisation. He is known for the virtuoso improvisation that occupies an important place in his musical practice, as well as for his youthful energy and complete dedication to music. He is considered one of the world's best concert organists.
He performed works by Bach, Liszt, Ravel and improvised on the theme of the Hymn of St. Anastasia, the title of our cathedral. With his impressive improvisation on the theme of the "Hymn of St. Anastasia", he particularly delighted the audience present in the cathedral, who rewarded him with a long applause. The cathedral was filled to the last seat, and we are especially pleased that among the visitors, in addition to locals and tourists, our neighbors from Šibenik and Split also enjoyed the concert.
This concert concludes the summer season of the 2nd international festival "Organ of St. Anastasia". The third international festival: "Organ of St. Anastasia" begins on 27. 5. 206 and we are happy to announce that Thomas Ospital will again hold a solo concert in July 2026. In addition to the concert, he will hold a masterclass for which registration is already possible.
