She studied in Zagreb (professors Lidija Horvat Dunjko and Vitomir Marof) and Mainz (professor Andreas Karasiak), and furthered her studies with Marjana Lipovšek, Claudia Eder, Martina Gojčeta, Krešimir Stražanec and Magda Nador.
Monika Cerovčec is a soloist of the Croatian Radio
and Television choir. She is also developing a diverse
profile as a soloist and chamber musician. In addition
to numerous oratorio solos in a diverse repertoire of
over twenty major works (Cavallieri's The Presentation
of the Soul and the Body, Monteverdi's Vespro della
beata Vergine, Bach's St. John's Passion, masses by
Mozart and Schubert, and numerous cantatas by Bach,
Vivaldi, Galuppi, and French Baroque, to contemporary
music), on the opera stage she has performed the
roles of Dido (Purcell), Jelena (Zajc), Karolka (Janaček),
Ninfa (Monteverdi), Music (Charpentier), and several
smaller roles in Donizetti's L'elisir d'amore and Verdi's Aida.
With the Antiphonus ensemble, she has made a number of notable chamber, solo and oratorio appearances in over 40 diverse programs, and she regularly engages in contemporary music, performing at the Biennale. As the winner of the “Orlando” award, she performed at the closing ceremony of the Dubrovnik Summer Festival with the maestro Kocsis. She is a member of the Ars longa and Tria Serafim ensembles. He performs with the HRT Orchestra, HRBOM, Cantus,
Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra, Sarajevo Philharmonic
Orchestra, and the Croatian Armed Forces Orchestra.
