Born in 1990 in Ayherre, France. Thomas Ospital began his music studies at the Bayonne Conservatory with Esteban Landart and continued them at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris, where he won five first prizes. His teachers include Olivier Latry, Michel Bouvard, Thierry Escaich, Philippe Lefebvre, Fabien Waksman, Isabelle Duha and Pierre Pincemaille.
He is the winner of numerous international organ competitions (Chartres, Zaragoza, Toulouse), and his career is also marked by notable discography, with an emphasis on works by Liszt, Bach and improvisation.
In addition to performances in his home country, he regularly gives concerts throughout Europe, North America, Australia and Russia. He is particularly appreciated for his virtuosity in improvisation, which he often uses for the musical accompaniment of silent films.
Since 2015, Thomas Ospital has been the titular organist of the great organ of the Saint-Eustache church in Paris, one of the most important organ venues in France.
Since 2017, he has been a professor of keyboard harmonization at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris, and since 2021, he has been a professor of organ with Olivier Latry. He regularly teaches interpretation and improvisation at master classes.
Thomas Ospital stands out for his youthful energy and complete dedication to music, and is considered one of the world's best concert organists.
