ORGANIST
Gergely Rákász gave his first concert at the age of 15, as the youngest concert organist in the country. He studied and performed in the USA. He has given over 1,700 performances in the largest cities of Hungary, Europe and the USA. His unique perspective fills classical music with youthful dynamics. Gergely created a new genre with his visual concerts, in which, with the help of fine arts, dance and acting, classical music and the organ were brought closer to thousands of people. In his project “Bachalley” he connected two probably the most distant points of the artistic palette, Bach’s fugues and Street Dance. Together with his audience, he supports many noble causes in his charity projects, the most significant of which is the Csaba Böjte Children’s Home in Tusnád. As part of his school program, his concerts have been played in more than 100 Hungarian schools, and almost 50,000 students have been able to get to know classical organ music thanks to him. He founded a fund in 2018 and with the contribution of that fund and some Hungarian artists, Gergely organizes concerts for Hungarian communities living outside the borders of his homeland, seeing these concerts as a seam between two torn parts of one nation. He has released 10 solo albums. He is the cultural ambassador of his hometown of Győr. He performed a solo concert in the Cathedral of St. Anastasia on the eve of the feast of St. Anastasia, the patron saint of the city of Zadar and the Archdiocese of Zadar on 14. 1. 2025.
